Mr.
Mulyono, a famous bakso seller in the Kudus City. He originally resided in Solo. However, now he
lives in the Kudus City. He is known as Pak Mul or Bakso Mul in Kudus City. He is a hard worker and very friendly to customers.
Pak
Mul's bakso business is started from a
recipe derived from his family. He was the first to open a bakso kiosk in his family. Initially,
he sold his bakso with a cart that he
peddled 20 kilometers away. Pak Mul did this for approximately three
years. Pak Mul
then made a permanent kiosk. Pak Mul
had various strategies to attract more customers. He, for excample, gave
discounts or gave extra meatballs to his customers.
To his neighbors, Pak Mul is very friendly. When he is at his bakso kiosk, he is
seen talking and even joking with his customers. It is his hospitality that
makes him popular around the city. Also, Pak Mul's kiosk is
almost never devoid of customers whether it's a normal day and holidays such as
Eid al-Fitr, he is able to sell more than 300-500 bowls of bakso in a day; and can be more than that.
"What
makes me able to survive and develop my business is because I know and believe
that I must continue to pursue my bakso
business. I am sure that I will succeed. I was almost hopeless. I almost stopped
this business and wanted to apply for work as a regular employee. But, my
family, especially my wife, always supports me. So, right now, this is what we
are. We can have our own kiosk. I am grateful that our business can grow
to this extent. This would not have happened if it were not for our own efforts
and the will of God.”
