Gaze in Campus V UNS Pabelan : JPTK (Department of Engineering and Teacher Training)

Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) has contantly improved the development in infrastuctures and services, both in central campus and branch campus. However, there are few things that needs to be paid attention more, especialy in the Campus V, JPTK (Department of Engineering and Teacher Training).

JPTK is now a part of FKIP (Faculty of Teacher Training and Education). For a long time, JPTK wished to be an independent faculty, like FKOR (Faculty of Sports). Actually the lecturers have proposed the request to the rector but the rector hasn’t granted the request.

Another thing that needs to be paid attention more is the inadequate facilities. For example, one of the ceiling in the building B collapsed due to the heavy rain and caused the flood to the second floor. It was concerned that the flood would cause electrical short circuit and fire.

The another problem is that the projector sometimes does not work. The air conditioner is also sometimes does not work. The two AC in a room are just like wall decorations. The parking lot is also not conducive enough for parking. The parking lot is neat but not yet paved so it leave mud in the shoes in the rainy season.

The faucets and sinks also do not work and yet haven’t been repaired so it can be used. The only one that can be used is in the 4th floor. The toilet doors are also broken so it make students uncomfortable. There are also neglected classrooms that are no longer in use. It can be allocated for another use so it wouldn’t be in vain. The canteen is also not suitable to eat because of the poor sanity and hygiene.

We just hope that there will be concrete steps taken by the authorities. Yet, we believe there's no such change in instant.
