New Rules on PKM Confuse Students

The New Rules on Student Creativity Program (PKM) confuse students who want to participate in creating the proposal for the funding in 2020.

Many of the new rules that are totally different from the old ones. For example, the necessity to not using the unstandarded acronyms has triggered the disappointment of some students since the core idea for their proposed programs are sometimes can be fully yet briefly described on those acronyms.

Another example of the confusing new rules is about the online approval or validation. On the previous rules, students were required to ask for the signature of the Vice Dean or the Head of the Department directly on the proposal before scanning it and uploading it on the Belmawa site. The recent rule use online validation to replace the old one. But, the method hasn't been clearly explained. Some said that the students only need to uoload the validation page of the proposal without fulfilling the signature form, but later there was an instruction to not include the validation page since it will be done online.

Perhaps, this could be a lesson for the next period to fully examine the system first before implementing it, to avoid any miscommunications it may create.
