Dra. Rara Sugiarti, M. Tourism, or better known as Rara is one of English Department Lecturers of Sebelas Market University. She was born on Ngawi, Mei 30, 1963. Until now on, she has been teaching in English Department for more than 20 years.
She obtained her Bachelor Degree from Sebelas Market University, majoring English Department program and her Master Degree from James Cook University Australia, majoring Tourism Program.
She has been conducting 44 researchs and 29 community services. She is also active in writing scientific articles, with 39 titles until now. She has had her 5 books published, from individual work and teamwork. She has experienced being a presenter on 30 oral presentations.
She's been lecturing Speaking, Tourism Planning, English for Tourism, and Research Method. Many of her students are fond of her because she is charming and patient to her every student.
On one ocation, in one of her tourism class, she brought her students to one of tourist destination in Surakarta, Mangkunegaran Palace, so that the students do not only learn about theory but also the practice in the actual field.
Not only active in lecturing, Rara is also very active in sharing her knowledge in community service. One of her projects, along with her colleague, Susilorini, has been published in one of local online news portal, Solopos.com. The project is about giving teaching and companion for two travel agencies in Solo to increase their productivity in the field of tourism sector.
One of her principals is: slowly but surely. We don't need to be in rush but we have to put our best in anything we do.
"She is from Ngawi and still live in Ngawi until now. She doesn't use private transportation, yet she has never been late in attending lectures or any other events," Said Agus D. P. her colleague. This has proven Rara as a dedicative lecturer with integrity.
