Raising the Dead

Sri Handhini Sarwiningsih, oftenly called as Dhini is one of English Department Students, a passionate girl who has a dream to raise the dead.

Dhini as a college students has to be able to divide her time equally; for college study and organization she joins in. Her wish is to make English better understood for everyone. She also participates as one of the committees of EDU Surakarta, an open forum to learn English for everyone.

Meanwhile, Better than Broadway (BTB) is a drama theater community under the auspices of English Department Community (EDCOM), a community owned by English Department of Sebelas Maret University. 

BTB was formed in 2002 and used to perform the annual Big Show but it has been vacuum for years, since this 21 year-old served as the Head of Art Division of EDCOM that has the BTB in it.

She wished to raise the dead. Because of her perseverance the Big Show by title “Coppelia” was finally held at November 2, 2019 in the Central-Java-Cultural-Park (TBJT).

She dedicated her time and energy to make the big show happen. That was not a risk-free project, but the consistency and the hard work she has done for months had finally made it.

It is inseparable from the hard work of the team but she has proven that nothing is impossible, that everything is started by a dream and balanced with efforts.
